The band from left to right is Maurice Frawley, Steve Connolly, me, Michael Barclay and Alan Brooker. Maurice wrote the riff to ‘Look So Fine, Feel So Low’ which Steve, Michael and I first recorded on ‘Post’ in 1984With my brothers and sisters, circa 1967. Martin and Sheila with guitars, Tony, Mary Jo (with our dog Whiskey) and John up the front. David up the back and me standing on the right, loving my outfit it seems. The eldest Anne is away in the convent becoming a nun. Sheila taught me my first chords on guitar. Martin introduced me to Walt Whitman and much more.At Sound Level rehearsal studio in Ultimo, Sydney, sometime in 1986. We rehearsed there for the ‘Gossip’ album. The Rolling Stones’ ‘Exile On Main Street’ was a touchstone for us, along with The Beach Boys, The Ramones, George Jones and ABBA. We threw everything we had into the pot.
